Director of Audiology
Mrs. Samuels-Cole is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology and Rehabilitation Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and Louisiana State University Medical Center respectively. Mrs. Samuels-Cole relocated to Maryland in 1997 to pursue studies in Audiology at the University of Maryland College Park, receiving her Master’s of Arts degree in 2004. Stacey is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Audiology at the University of Maryland College Park with an expected graduation date of May 2008.
Mrs. Samuels-Cole’s previous work experience included clinical work at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC where she served as Director of Audiology in the Division of Surgery. She also served as supervisor of the Neonatal Hearing Program at Howard University Hospital and on the District of Columbia Hearing Advisory Board. Mrs. Samuels-Cole has taught college-level audiology courses at the University of the District of Columbia, lectured to Ear, Nose, and Throat resident physicians, and supervised audiology master-level students in diagnostic audiology, hearing aid fitting, electrophysiological measures, and vestibular testing and rehabilitation. For over two years, Stacey worked on a collaborative NIH research project, which examined the speech perception in the elderly population with hearing loss.
Stacey currently holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and is state licensed. Professional memberships include: the American Speech Hearing Language Association (ASHA), the International Hearing Society (IHS), and the American Academy of Audiology (AAA).
As Director of Audiology of Hearing Professionals, Inc., her stated goal is to enhance people's lives by improving their ability to communicate as well as, to provide our patients with the best possible hearing and balance health care, based upon their individual needs.
